Ord Volume
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to run Ord Volume software?
Tim Ord Volume
Charts works with Microsoft Windows XP and was
written using Microsoft.Net. It uses public domain
data sources for end of day data which is normally
updated after 8:00 PM EST. Computer requirements
are Windows XP, 256 megabytes of memory, 800 by 600
minimum screen resolution, and a internet
connection. If you don't have the .net
framework already installed on your system the
install will download it for you.
Will it work
with Commodities and Options?
Options can be
traded using the equity volumes as the basis for
your trading decisions. Commodities volumes are not
useful for this method because constantly changing
open interest and skewed volume from expiration.
Can I use it to
day trade?
We don't suggest
it. The method is best used for swing trading
or longer time frames. If you are daytrading you
will at least be able to tell the path of least
resistance for a stock and trade with the direction.
The profit potential of catching a 50% volume change
is far greater than chasing intraday fluctuations.
Do you support
other data feeds?
Not at this time.
If you find a stock that is not split corrected you
can load a .csv file with the data of your choice.
If you don't know how to use .csv files contact
help@ord-oracle.com.
The signals are so dramatic with this method small
data errors are not of much concern.
